Changes Happen When Moving Your Whole Family Out of State

My view while writing this post – sharing a beautiful sunset

When Life takes you places..

Oh boy, does this momma blog need a dusting or what? I guess this is what happens when life takes you away with flying colors. You know, we have taken some big steps to move out of state last fall. We took a risk and started building our own custom home in our dream location. Sounds like everything you could ever ask for, right? But holy moly are we in it deep… We figured our house would be done by a long shot and we’re still just patiently waiting. I hear it over and over again from people telling us how this is to be expected up here. However, I keep asking myself why this is the norm and what exactly makes it ok? We are already a good 2 months over! The builder constantly likes to tell us what we want to hear to keep us calm, but we’re just right there on the edge. I just don’t have it in me to be a total bitch. In the end our builder is only human and has 2 very ill parents he is dealing with. Even though this is one of the most frustrating things I have every experienced in my life and I truly do not want to ever build another house, I must say at the end of the day he is building us a solid home. I guess this counts for something!

In the Meantime

On the other hand, I’m thinking if it wasn’t for our house not being done I certainly wouldn’t have the opportunity to sit on the porch of this cute cottage right by the lake (renting for a couple of weeks). I got to enjoy a beautiful sunset over the water as I was devouring a mint patty and all that

was missing was a tiny glass of wine. The kids are in bed, my pup is laying by my side and we’re just hanging out. Quite a treat if you ask me! Does it really make up for all the hassle and stress? Sure, some of this specific moment anyways. I almost don’t remember what it’s like to just kick back and relax. We’ve had to pack up all our belongings to move again recently and it’s draining. Moving is exhausting without kids and pets and all those goodies, so it was a challenge to have the extra load. We made it through this first (or really second) hurdle and I know we will get to the finish line eventually. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, right?

Exciting things to come!

Besides all the packing and moving and all these other shenanigans I’ve been working on a little project that I’ve been dreaming about for a long..LONG..time. I won’t get into too much detail yet because I will write a new post to introduce it to you soon! It is quite exciting and I hope you’ll share that excitement with me! I can’t wait to tell you all about it, so please keep tuned!

Tata for now!
